For 30 years, Kathy Durkin has been a household name in the Irish Country Music Scene. She came from a very musical family, with her late Dad, Eugene Leddy, a talented fiddle player, having one of the most successful céilí bands in Ireland in the 50’s and 60’s.
From the start, Kathy had numerous hits including ‘Clock in the Tower’, ‘Midnight to Moonlight’, ‘Jones on the Jukebox’ and ‘Down at the Twist and Shout’, but her big break came in 1991 with the song ‘Working Man’. Her version of the song spent 1 year in the Irish charts and was voted best Irish Single in 1991 and 92.
In the last 15 years Kathy has toured with her son Andreas across the United States with artists like Tony Kenny, Andy Cooney, Paddy Noonan and many more. They have also performed on many Caribbean cruises alongside Ronan Tynan, Johnny McEvoy, Mike Denver, Derek Ryan and comedian Noel V. Ginnity.
Kathy released her latest single ‘Go Light Your World’ in November 2018 and is powerful ballad of Hope. The song gives hope to people dealing with addiction, homelessness and despair.
