Having exploded into the top 5 on iTunes last month after their incendiary performance on the BBC Music Awards Show, Catfish And The Bottlemen, release epic new single ‘Kathleen’ February 6th on Communion/Island Records. Already added to the Radio 1 Playlist, this is sure to be one of the big indie hits of 2015.
‘Kathleen’ grabs you from the very first note with its high-octane guitars and crashing drums, and is taken from their debut album ‘The Balcony’. Produced by Jim Abiss (Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian) and written by charismatic front man Van McCann, the album is packed full of radio favourites with ‘Kathleen’ following the Radio 1, XFM and 6Music playlisted tracks ‘Cocoon’, ‘Homesick’, ‘Rango’ and ‘Pacifier’.
With Catfish And The Bottlemen winning the coveted Best Newcomer at the BBC Music Awards, the UK and Ireland have gone Catfish crazy. And the US is not far behind. The band returned to the USA this week where ‘Kathleen’ became the number 1 most added song at Alternative Radio.
Currently forging a reputation as one of the UK’s best live acts, they spend most of February and March touring the States, before returning for a 11 date UK (all dates sold out) and Ireland tour.
Catfish and the Bottlemen play The Academy, Dublin on Wednesday 8th April. Debut album ‘The Balcony’ is out now.
2015 is theirs for the taking.
Catfish And The Bottlemen are: Van McCann (vocals/guitar), Johnny Bond (guitar), Benji Blakeaway (bass) and Bob Hall (drums).
