Belfast Philharmonic Choir - Mendelssohn - Elijah
Conducted by Stephen Doughty, Ulster Orchestra & soloists.
Mendelssohn’s epic oratorio Elijah moves from the eternal battle between good and evil to the personal story of one man’s struggle to hold onto his faith.
In 2019 the 100-strong Belfast Philharmonic Choir is joined by the Ulster Orchestra and soloists to once again sing this dramatic piece, which includes the famous trio ‘Lift thine eyes’ and well-known choruses ‘Cast thy burden’ and ‘He that shall endure to the end’. The towering choruses and stirring solos provide a fitting close to the Belfast Philharmonic’s 2018/19 season.
